Abstract

The article considers the question of measurement of the efficiency of noise protection screen, the impact of traffic noise on human health, the analysis of the theoretical calculations and experimental data. On the basis of theoretical calculations and experimental data we suggested the methods of improvement of noise protection properties of screens. The acoustic ecology research is important, because on the basis of such measurements it is possible to map the noise of the city, to mark out the areas with high sound pressure, which need to be secured against such a harmful influence; and areas with a low sound pressure, the so-called "quiet zones" - the most favorable for recreation and life. There are a lot of works and researches on the harmful effects of noise. The data presented in the article show the efficiency of noise protection screens in urban areas and along highways
