Abstract

Notwithstanding the existence of the Standard for portfolio management, published by PMI, publications of gurus of project and portfolio management, there are still remaining the series of serious problems in this sphere. In the purposes of operational projects portfolio management we propose to combine method of calendar – grid planning with method of scenarios analysis. Also it is grounded, that the emphasis in monitoring a portfolio must be shifted towards fixing and interpreting changes in information, concerning risk events, instead of usual monitoring of work’s time and costs progress. Besides, it is proposed to use curves of project’s uncertainty decrease for prioritizing projects from the point of view of their monitoring frequency. As investment projects portfolio is concerned, it is proposed to take into account relations among projects and restrictions on their size during prioritizing projects and balancing a portfolio. Also it is shown the necessity of diversification of projects portfolio, sponsored by the only investor
