Scope and Topics
The journal «Management Information Systems and Devices» («Автоматизовані системи управління та прилади автоматики») covers one primary field: technical sciences.
The journal publishes articles in the following areas:
- Computer Engineering;
- Mathematical Modelling;
- Optimization and Control Processes;
- Design Automation and Diagnostics;
- Information and Intelligent Systems;
- Computer Technologies in Education;
- IT Project Management.
The editorial policy provides for publishing original research articles that have not been published previously and are not under consideration elsewhere, and that demonstrate significant scientific, theoretical, or practical contribution.
Manuscripts must be well-argued and properly formatted. The journal «Management Information Systems and Devices» does not consider patents, certificates of authorship, inventions, other intellectual property disclosures, idea notes, or popular-science articles. Publication decisions are made by the Editorial Board after peer review, taking into account the scientific significance and relevance of the submitted materials. Articles are published in Ukrainian or English.
Submission Timeline
Each manuscript submitted to the editorial office—after checks for scope fit, originality, compliance with formatting requirements, and following external peer review—may be scheduled for publication in the nearest issue upon a positive decision of the Editorial Board.
Peer Review Process
Peer review safeguards the scientific quality and integrity of publications. The journal adheres to the principles of impartiality, confidentiality, independence of editorial decisions, and ethical standards.
The journal employs double-blind peer review: the identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to each other. Manuscripts are evaluated by external independent experts in the relevant field with no conflicts of interest.
Review Stages (indicative)
- Checking for scope fit and compliance with formatting requirements.
- Academic integrity screening (text-overlap analysis).
- Assigning at least two reviewers.
- Expert evaluation with a written report.
- Editorial decision.
- Author’s revision and, if necessary, re-review.
Evaluation Criteria
- Scientific novelty and originality of results;
- Soundness of problem statement, methodology, and proofs;
- Reproducibility and completeness of experiment/computation descriptions;
- Validity of conclusions and consistency with stated objectives;
- Relevance and currency of references; correctness of citations;
- Compliance with the journal’s scope and editorial requirements.

Indicative Timeframes
- scope/format check: up to 5 business days;
- initial peer review: up to 4–6 weeks;
- re-review after revision: up to 2–4 weeks.
All submissions are handled confidentially. Reviewers disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest; in such cases, another expert is appointed. The use of unpublished materials by reviewers in their own research is prohibited.
Authors may submit a reasoned appeal against an editorial decision or a reviewer’s report. Appeals are considered by the Editor-in-Chief/Editorial Board and, if necessary, the manuscript is sent for an additional independent review.
Limited auxiliary use of AI tools (language suggestions/editing) is permitted and must be disclosed in the manuscript. Generating scientific content/data is prohibited. Authors bear full responsibility for the originality and correctness of the materials.
Open Access Policy
The journal «Management Information Systems and Devices» provides immediate open access to its published content in accordance with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), supporting the free global exchange of scientific knowledge. Full-text access to articles is available on the official website in the «Archives» section.
All journal content is open access and freely available to readers and/or their institutions from the moment of publication. The licensing policy is compatible with most open-access and archiving policies.
Permitted Uses
- reading, downloading, copying, distribution, printing, searching, and linking to full texts of articles;
- non-commercial reproduction of individual fragments (figures, tables, schemes) with mandatory citation of the source;
- creation of derivative materials subject to license terms.
Licensing
Journal materials are distributed under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. This permits free use of the content for non-commercial purposes with attribution, application of the same license to derivative works, and citation of the primary publication (article title, author(s), journal title, year, DOI).
Copyright remains with the authors. The author(s) grant the publisher a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the article.
Archiving and Self-Archiving
- authors may deposit preprints and postprints in institutional/disciplinary repositories and on personal webpages;
- it is recommended to include the full bibliographic citation and DOI of the record published on the journal website;
- the self-archiving policy complies with CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
Publication Ethics
The journal’s publication ethics policy is compiled with reference to:
