Training of family doctors at the under- and postgraduate stage, problems and the ways of their solutions

Abstract

Background. The article analyzes the specialization programs of interns and the local doctors physicians and pediatricians retraining cycle students in the specialty "General practice - family medicine". The ways of solving some problems associated with the training  of doctors in Ukraine are offered. The purpose of the study was to analyze and optimize the system of the family doctors training at the under- and postgraduate stage. Results. Healthcare reforming on the basis of family medicine is an expedient, steady and irreversible process in Ukraine. Reform decisions must be balanced and, above of all, comply with the current legislation of Ukraine. Conclusions. The current state of family medicine indicates that organizational structure, financing, staffing, material and technical support require advancement by bringing it closer to the people, increasing the range of services, improving their quality and efficiency. Reforming the system of health care on the principles of family medicine in Ukraine, especially active in recent years, has shown some positive results, but at the same time the problems of the quality of medical education and training require further resolution.
