Peer Review Process

The magazine practices a policy of free dissemination of scientific information and immediate open access to published content. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of journal articles without prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in line with the definition of BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative).

Publication Frequency

The magazine is published twice a year.

This journal pursues a policy of immediate open access to published content, supporting the principles of free dissemination of scientific information and global exchange of knowledge for the general social progress.

Policy on the use of artificial intelligence and technologies supported by artificial intelligence

The objectives of the Policy on the use of artificial intelligence and technologies supported by artificial intelligence are:

establishing the principles of responsible, ethical and safe use of AI in all types of activities of the Publication;
improving the quality of education and scientific research through the implementation of innovative technologies and approaches to the use of AI;
protecting the rights of participants in the educational process and adhering to ethical principles in all types of activities;
guaranteeing academic integrity and compliance with ethical norms when using artificial intelligence;
ensuring compliance with the current legislation of Ukraine, domestic and international standards, as well as the Recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (2025), the EU Regulation on Artificial Intelligence (AI Act), the UNESCO Recommendations on the Ethics of AI (2021).

Journal History

The journal "Scientific Notes of Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University" was founded in 1997. In 2007, another certificate of state registration of TR № 241 dated 18.11.2007 was received. Since 2010, the collection is included in the list of scientific professional publications of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine (certificate of state registration KV 8715878-4350R dated 12.10.2010). In 2015, the collection was re-registered by the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine as a scientific professional publication (). It is included in the Ukrainian abstract database "Scientific Ukraine", materials are published in the abstract journal "Source" and indexed in Google Scholar. Since 2017, the journal's materials are indexed in the scientometric databases Journal Faktor and Jifaktor.

Since its inception, 45 issues have been published (2 issues per year). Contributors to the journal are scientists from all regions of Ukraine, as well as Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Poland.

The journal performs a wide range of functions, which in general give an idea of: the directions of development of geographical science, its achievements and competitiveness. Articles of leading scientists of Ukraine on theoretical and applied problems of geography, scientists of academic research institutions and university science, doctoral students, graduate students are published as a test of dissertation research results. Information on new monographic researches in the field of geography and related sciences, resolutions of the held scientific conferences, outstanding scientific events, anniversaries of scientists is regularly published.

The following information is presented in the journal in national and English languages: the name of the journal; article titles; annotations to each scientific article; surnames of authors; address information about the place of work of the authors, names of organizations (data on the affiliation of the authors (author affiliation)).

Article-by-article lists of literature in the Romance alphabet (Latin) are provided in such a way that these references are taken into account when studying the citation of publications of authors and journals.

Functionally, the information of the journal is divided into two main groups:

1) thematic, which contributes to obtaining information on the issues of scientific research, the results of which are reflected in the publications of scientists (semantic (abstract) component);

2) subjective, ie analytical component (bibliometric research).
