Abstract

The article focuses on the practicability of cavitation cleaning  of hydraulic equipment elements from contaminants. The aim of the article is to study the cavitation cleaning process as well as to analyze the effects associated with the cavitation cleaning process. For this purpose, the experimental-and-analytical method is used. In the article, literature data are analyzed, and the basic conditions and factors that have an impact on the cavitation cleaning process of hydraulic equipment elements from contaminants are determined. The service life of  hydraulic equipment elements subjected to cavitation cleaning is analyzed with consideration for structural materials which are widely used in the hydraulic machinery construction. The conclusion is made that to avoid cavitation erosion of the surfaces, cleaned in the cavitation field, it is necessary that the time of cleaning should do not exceed the incubation period of the material cavitation erosion. The results of the studies have been used for developing recommendations on selection of the optimal mode of cavitation cleaning of hydraulic equipment elements.
