The mathematical model that is offered to describe the process of passing the concentration wave through a layer of adsorbent. The analytical decision for this model giving the set of own frequencies of adsorption layer is found. It allows to describe the passage of a concentration wave of the any form passing through adsorption layer, expanding it's previously at the entrance to the absorbent on the natural frequencies. The comparison of the results of calculations carried out taking into account the mathematical model, with well-known in gas chromatography practice gives a good convergence. Some of the techniques and the empirical equation of Van Deemter, used in gas chromatography are explained.
