CURRENT TRENDS AND PROSPECTS OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN THE WORLD

Formulation of the problem. In a modern economy characterized by globalization, outsourc-ing, increased competition and the speed of service of intangible assets, such as knowledge and know-how, factors of the development and survival of enterprises become key aspects for the modern econ-omy. In this technology-based business environment, projects, due to their complexity and size, must widely apply technologies and tools. In addition, the benefits of information technology (hereinafter - IT) encourage joint project teams to use technology for collaborative work and communications.
Analysis of basic research and publications. The process of project management development is inseparable from the development of information technology. And the global trends of IT spheres dictate the rules for creating technology and project management tools. Therefore, the direction in which the IT industry moves has been identified and thus shows which research and development are necessary for the successful development of project management.
Formulating the purpose of the article. The purpose of the article is to present an analysis of current trends and prospects of project management in the world.
The main research material. For an understanding of trends in the field of information tech-nology, an analyst of such global leaders as Microsoft, Gartner and IDC should be considered.
The analysis showed that the most consistent trend in the IT field is the digital transformation. The next is cloud technologies. In other directions, the forecasts of world leaders in the IT industry are divergent.
Conclusions and perspectives of further research. It is determined that project management in the whole world is also waiting for a digital transformation. And the path to such a transformation is the management tools in a virtual environment without people - electronic project management.
So, the prospect for further research is to identify what researches in the field of digital project management are exist today.
