This article examines the main factors influencing the quality of implementation of post-printing processing of book editions, and, therefore, the quality of the final product – the book. In particular, the formed set of factors containing the following components: production of brochures, binding, assembly, covering material, processing of book blocks, decoration, final processing, project, is analyzed. In order to single out the selected factors, the method of expert evaluation is used and practitioners-experts and representatives of the scientific community are involved. The main attention is paid to the establishment and analysis of relationships between factors, which are conditionally divided into two categories: direct and indirect influences and direct and indirect dependencies. At the same time, direct influences and dependencies are understood as the reachabilities of the first order, and indirect ones are understood as the reachabilities of the second order. To study the relationships between the factors, the ranking method is used, according to which a system of hierarchical trees is constructed: hierarchical graphs of direct and indirect influences on the quality of implementation of post-printing processing of book editions; hierarchical graphs of direct and indirect dependencies of factors for the implementation of post-printing processes. For mathematical assessment, each type of relationships is assigned a corresponding weight coefficient. Taking into account the number of relationships of a certain type for each factor and their weight coefficients, the integral weight values of the factors are determined. The result of the assessment is the establishment of factor ranks. At the same time, the highest rank is assigned to the factor with the largest final weight value. Accordingly, the higher the rank is, the more priority the influence of the analyzed factor has. For example, the factor of the eighth rank (which is the highest in this problem) is assigned the first priority level, that is, its influence on the quality of the studied technological process is decisive. Similarly, ranks and priority levels are assigned to all elements of the selected set.
