The results of the simulation of electromagnetic characteristics of a microstrip disk resonator with shorting-vias with ground plane are presented. The influence of the number of shorting-vias and their geometrical location, with respect to the geometrical disc centre, on the integral characteristics of the radiating element have been investigated. In contrast to the well-known works, special attention is paid to changes in the spectral composition of the excited modes, location of the phase centres of excitation of certain types of oscillations and to matching the cavity with external circuits.References
