Issues of spatial-temporal variability of the negative influence of natural obstacles on the effectiveness of underwater weathering by hydroacoustic methods are considered. The results of calculations of refraction and absorption of sound in seawater are generalized on the example of the Azov-Black Sea region. According to the results of calculations, typical for each month of the trajectory of acoustic beams are obtained and the frequency of formation of the hydroacoustic shadow zones is determined
