Probation: common approaches to defining the concept and foundations for implementation in Ukraine

This article considers the trends of implementing probation in Ukraine; the analysis of the main approaches to defining this concept in different regulations and scientific developments has been carried out. The main provisions of the draft Law of Ukraine "On Probation", adopted in the first reading by the Supreme Council of Ukraine, and the main stages of introducing the concept of "probation" in the national legal framework have been outlined.
