The article highlights the historical aspects of the development of entrepreneurship as a determinant of the driving force for sustainable development and key issues that limit the participation and impact of the Ukrainian business on the formation and implementation of political decisions in this field; prospects of strengthening the place and role of business in achieving sustainable development in Ukraine are considered
