Aim. To carry out research on development of composition of the soft dosage form with burdock thick extract for dermatological application.
Methods. For the bioavailability estimation of the soft dosage forms model samples, in vitro release of flavonoids has been studied by the methods of dialysis across semi-permeable membranes and diffusion in 6% gelatin gel. Structural and mechanical properties of the developed gel has been studied by using rotational viscometer «Rheolab QC» («Anton Paar», Austria) with coaxial cylinders CC27/S-SN29766.
Results. It has been shown that the hydroxymethyl cellulose-based gel model sample had the highest release of flavonoids. The structural and mechanical properties of the gel base proved the presence of a non-Newtonian flow type with plastic and thixotropic properties of the developed remedy. The calculated mechanical stability value allows predict stability at homogenization and storage of the medicinal product.
Conclusion. The composition and technology of the hydroxymethyl cellulose-based gel with burdock extract have been developed, as well as its biopharmaceutical parameters have been determined
