The article highlights the life of one of the greatest church leaders of the end of XIХ century Metropolitan of Kiev and Galician Ioanikii (Rudnev). An attempt to analyze its activity as an educator and spiritual diocesan bishop is carried. Attention is paid to the main areas of spiritual and educational work of church leader and results are described. The following areas of activity of metropolitan Ioanikii as charity and education are especially highlighted
