Показано, что вариации солнечной активности наиболее сильно статистически связаны с межгодовыми изменениями повторяемости в Северном полушарии Земли элементарных циркуляционных механизмов, относящихся к группе Меридиональных Южных в июне. В 1955-2012 гг. сила связи между этими процессами устойчиво возрастала, что позволяет предполагать вероятность резкого ее уменьшения в ближайшие годы малой
