Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Це подання раніше не було опубліковане і не надсилалося до розгляду редакціям інших журналів (або у коментарях для редактора нижче дані необхідні пояснення).
  • Файл подання є документом у форматі Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, RTF або WordPerfect.
  • Інтернет-посилання у тексті супроводжуються повними коректними адресами URL.
  • Текст набраний 12-м розміром кеглю з одинарним міжрядковим інтервалом; авторські акценти виділені курсивом, а не підкресленням (всюди, крім адрес URL); всі ілюстрації, графіки та таблиці розміщені безпосередньо у тексті, там, де вони повинні бути за змістом (а не у кінці документу).
  • Текст відповідає вимогам до стилістики та бібліографії, викладеним у Керівництві для авторів розділу "Про журнал".
  • Якщо матеріал подається у рецензований розділ журналу, при оформленні файлу подання були виконані інструкції щодо Гарантій сліпого рецензування.

GUIDELINES FOR CONTRIBUTORS

Dear contributors.
By publishing your papers in our journal, you will have the opportunity to significantly increase the visibility of publications, your citation index and publication activity in international analytical and information systems, which our journal is a part of.     More about Scientometrics

Papers in these systems are processed automatically. Therefore it is important that the contributors comply with the requirements of the Open Journal System platform and requirements set for scientific publications by scientometrics systems and scientific information retrieval systems.

For correct processing of metadata of your paper by information systems and scientometric indices count, we recommend that you use the material contained in this section
Requirements to published materials.
1. The paper should be consistent with the  journal's topic domain, be published for the first time and include the following elements:

  • formulation of the problem in general and its relation to important scientific and practical tasks;
  • analysis of recent research and publications that tap solution of this problem and on which the contributor draws on, emphasis of the aspects of the general problem remaining unsolved in this paper;
  • formulation of the objects of the paper (problem formulation);
  • statement of basic research material with full justification of the results obtained;
  • conclusions of this study and the prospects for further research in this field;
  • References.

2. Requirements to text layout:

  • Scope of the paper: up to 15 full pages (including photos, figures and tables);
  • Paper language: Ukrainian, Russian, English;
  • Paper: white, А4 size (210 * 297) mm;
  • Program version: Microsoft Word (1997 - 2003), .doc format;
  • Emphasis: normal;
  • Font: Times New Roman;
  • Font size: 12;
  • Spacing: Single line;
  • Document margins: top and bottom 20 mm.; left 25 mm.; right 15 mm.

3. Requirements to figures:
Figures must be presented in JPG, TIF, BMP  formats (minimum size 9*12 cm);

  •  Figures with captions shall be placed after the first reference to them in the text.
  •  Before the figure the text must give a reference to it in the form Fig. 1;
  • The  caption shall be in the form Fig. 1. Name of the figure.;
  • If the figure presents a function or a chart, the caption must give legend of all designations  including the coordinate axis.
  • If a figure contains subfigures (a, b, c) each of subfigures must have a caption to it.
  •  The size of captions must conform to the font Times New Roman size12.
  • Attention! The printed version is published in black & white, so the colors in the figure should not covey any meaning.

4. Requirements to tables:

    • Tables with captions shall be placed after the first reference to them in the text;
    • Tables shall not contain empty lines, if no result is available, put "zero" or "-" (dash);
    • If the table is split onto several pages there is no need to give captions on every new page!;

5. Requirements to formulas:

      • Formulas shall be presented in Microsoft Equation 3.0;
      • Formulas shall be subject to continuous numbering;
      • References to formulas shall have the form (1), (2-4);
      • Numbering shall be aligned to the right.
      • A formula is a part of the text, therefore  formulas must be followed by a semantic symbol: if followed by a new sentence - a full stop; if followed by an explanation - a comma.

6. Requirements to references in the text:

      • All literary sources listed in the References section must have references in the text of the paper!
      • References to literary sources shall be in the form [1], [2 – 6];
      • References must be arranged in the order as they are mentioned in the paper.

7. Requirements to References:

      • As world practice goes, it is recommended that sources shall be at least 10;
      • As world practice goes, it is recommended that references to foreign sources shall be at least 6;
      • It is not acceptable that a list of references contains reference to GOSTs or national standards.
      • Self citation percentage ratio must not be over 30%;
      • The paper shall be followed by two versions of bibliography sources (References):
      • 7.1. Version in the language of the information source (Cyrillic letters are allowed), the format of sources shall be in accordance with the state standard of Ukraine ДСТУ ГОСТ 7.1:2006.
      • 7.2. English version:

For transliteration of Ukrainian text use the table referred to in Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 55  dd. January 27, 2010 "On Normalization of Transliteration of the Ukrainian Alphabet by Means of the Latin Alphabet"More details.     
The text in Russian shall be transliterated according to Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation No. 1047 dd. 31. 12. 2003 (More details).
There exist several styles for arranging references. The editorial office recommends using Harvard style (BSI): (More details).
For books
Contributor/s, editors, translators, etc. (last name coma initials) Year of publication, Title. Details of publications (information on republication, edition number, series), Publisher, Place of publication, Size.
When referencing a Russian or Ukrainian language source after the Title and Details of Publication (translated into English) in [square brackets] indicate transliterated Title together with the details of publication.
Examples:

      • Porter, M. (2008), Competitive strategy: methodology for analyzing industries and competitors. Trans. from Eng. 3rd ed. [Konkurentnaya strategiya: metodika analiza otraslei i konkurentov. Per. s angl. 3-e izd.], Al'pina Biznes Buks, Moscow, 453 p.

When referencing articles or separate chapters indicating authors of a book or collection
Contributor/s, editors, translators, etc. (last name coma initials) Year of publication, "Paper title: details of title", Book title: details, details of title, Publisher, Place of Publication, Place of paper (pages).
When making a reference to a Russian or a Ukrainian source after the translation of the title of the source in [square brackets ] indicate the transliterated title of the original source.
Examples:

For referencing articles from newspapers and journals
Author/s (name comma initials) Year of publishing, "Title of the article: details of title", Name of Journal, Issue number, Place of the article (pages).
When making a reference to a Russian or a Ukrainian source after the translation of the title of the source in [square brackets ] indicate the transliterated title of the original source.
Examples:

      • Fedosiuk, O. (2005), "Trafficking in human beings in criminal law and practice of courts", Law, No. 54, pp. 72-73.

      1. Requirements to paper title:
      • Strict compliance with the content of the paper;
      • Key words;
      • Not more than 10 words;
      • No abbreviations.
      1. Requirements to abstracts:
      • Thoroughness (it should reflect the content of the paper and research results);
      • Structureless (it should follow the logic of description of results in the paper);
      • Information content (it should not contain descriptive generalizations);
      • Scope: In Ukrainian and Russian 35 - 50 words; in English  100 - 250 words;
      • No abbreviations evident from the context of the paper only.
      • Originality (it should not calk the Russian summary) For English version.

10. Requirements to key words:

      • Not more than 10 words;
      • No abbreviations evident from the context of the paper only;
      • Use of nominative case;
      • Separation by commas.

12. Package of documents for the paper:

      • One copy of the paper in printed form (signed on the reverse side of the last page by all contributors);
      • The paper on electronic media;
      • The  review signed by a Doctor of Sciences bearing a seal attesting the signature;
      • Details of contributors;
      • Abstract in English certified by a translation agency and its Russian version;

13. Requirements to details of contributors:
For each of contributors

      • Full name:
      • Title, position;
      • Full place of work, no abbreviation;
      • Address;
      • e-mail;
      • Contact phone;
      • Optionally - a short CV (research interests, scientific biography, professional societies, academic staff training, prepared publications, achievements (merits);
      • Information. When providing information about contributors in English one should use generally accepted terms for translation scientific degrees, titles and positions held. More detalis

14. Submission of a paper to the journal:
You may submit the paper to the editorial office in several ways:

15. Getting your copy of the journal:

    • Publication of the journal is announced on the site's home page.
    • Contributors living in Kharkiv get their copy of the journal at the editorial office at the address: vul. Myronosytska, 60, City of Kharkiv, Ukraine, 61002;
    • The journal is sent to contributors, who are residents of other cities, at the address specified in the license agreement;
    • The electronic version of the journal is available in our site: eeе.khpi.edu.ua
