Економічні перетворення в Україні в західній науковій літературі: загальний огляд

Анотація

У статті здійснено стислий огляд наукової літе ратури, присвяченої питанням економічних перетворень в Україні, а саме: 1) визначення основних напрямів дослі джень; 2) основні надбання; 3) перспективи майбутніх нау кових досліджень. З проведеного аналізу можна зробити ни зку оптимістичних висновків. Поперше, Україна як об’єкт наукового дослідження у сучасній парадигмі економічної дисципліни вивчається із застосуванням провідних методик як визнаними, так і молодими науковцями; існують фундаме нтальні дослідження цієї проблематики, а сама країна пе ребуває під пильною увагою англомовного наукового світу. Відомо, що більшість європейських економістів, які праг нуть вийти на глобальний рівень, публікує свої праці пе реважно англійською мовою. Щодо України — тут можна зро бити аналогічний висновок: кількість робіт про країну англійською мовою свідчить про те, що інтерес до України має глобальний характер чи принаймні вона викликає значну зацікавленість у Північноатлантичному світі. Подруге, широке коло дослідників у цій сфері не є українськими спеціалістами: це — економісти, що мають на даний час до слідницькі інтереси щодо України. Тож можна говорити про те, що дана тема буде актуальною і для нових дослідників. Потретє, більшість дослідників не є українцями і не на лежить до діаспори, що зновутаки свідчить про зацікавле ність іноземців у проведенні наукових досліджень щодо України. У статті визначено десять основних напрямів май бутніх перспективних досліджень, що свідчить про значний потенціал подальшого вивчення економічних перетворень в Україні. З плином часу та збільшенням кількості даних за вдяки роботі, що має здійснюватися українськими економіс тами та науковцями, виникне потреба у вивченні (серед ін ших питань) тематики розвитку олігархічних структур в Україні, а також питань приватизації землі.

Біографія автора

Олег Гаврилишин, Заступник керівника управління кадрів Міжнародного валютного фонду

Олег Гаврилишин на даний час обіймає посаду заступника керівника управління кадрів Міжнародного валютного фонду. Він обіймав керівні посади в МВФ починаючи з 1996 року; останньою посадою, яку він обіймав, була по сада заступника керівника європейського департаменту. Він отримав ступінь доктора наук у Массачусетському Інституті Технологій та викладав економіку в Університеті Джорджа Вашингтона (1970—1991). Він є автором багатьох праць, зокрема книги «Від Радянського Союзу до Східної економічної співдружності» (1991), та одного з перших українських видань про основи функ ціонування економіки «Фундаментальні принципи теорії ринків» (1992). Він також опублікував статтю «Доларизація в колишньому Радянському Союзі» у виданні Comparative Economic Studies (2003). Також О. Гаврилишин нещодавно закінчив книгу «Капіталізм для всіх чи капіталізм для обраних? Шляхи пост комуністичної трансформації», яку буде опубліковано 2005 року
