Abstract

During 130 years the Ingersoll-Rand company is one of the world leaders on production ofdrill, pneumatic and compressor equipments, road-building engineering, resources of protection and control and much another. Тікfirst air reciprocating compressor was released by the company in 1872 and thefirst centrifugal compressor Ingersoll-Rand was manufactured in 1912. Nowadays by company are produced tens of thousands new models of reciprocating, rotary screw and centrifugal compressors practically for all kinds of industry for the different countries. Company allocates by advanced experience and technical know-how in thefield ofconstructing and production ofsuch types ofcompressors. This allows it to develop the release of compressor engineering. Combining modern technologies of production with excellence, company has manufactured more than 16 thousand modem air centrifugal compressors of model «Centac». The history of the company, the first steps in the field of compressors manufacturing and modem achievements, which has guaranteed its unsurpassed success, are considering in the given article.
