Abstract

The science about thermophysical properties of substances has gained the independent status and at the present time is oriented on support the increasing requirements of a science and engineering in relevant data. In this article the history of origin and development of the given science is conditionally divided into three stages. Is marked that lately in the advanced countries the special centres were generated which certify the data about thermophysical properties of substances. The large contribution to creation and development of the State service of a standard reference data (in the system of USSR’s State committee of standards) has brought the outstanding scientist – thermo- physicist doctor of engineering science, professor V. A. Rabinovich, he died not long ago. In the present article the estimation of a role of the professor V. A. Rabinovich  in solution of a problem of certification of a reference data about thermophysical properties of gases and liquids is given and also his large personal contribution to development for a number of directions of modern thermophysical.
