CHARACTERISTICS OF NEW TURBOMACHINES FOR USAGE IN UPGRADED AIR SEPARATION UNITS

The characteristics of air separation units (ASU) are depend in a great extent on activities of compressor and expanding machines. As such machines are permanently improved, at modernization working ASU always work for to replace used compressors and expanders on new more reliable and effective. It allows as a whole to decrease the common and energy intensity of ASU, to increase its reliability. The results of development an effective turbocompressor machine «КТА-2,8/0,19» for providing with circulation of nitrogen in air separation unit «АжАр-4» are stated in the given article. The replacement of a present multistage compressor on the given machine has allowed to spare within one year per 5 million kWt•h of an electrical energy. Is informed also about creation of turbine expander with gas-static bears and brake compressor stage which intended for usage in composition of ASU.
