Abstract

100 years from birthday of the outstanding scientist and organizer of wide-ranging scientific researches of Dr. Sc. (Eng.), professor V.S. Martynovskiy. In 1948–1973 he was headed the institute which now calls as the Odessa State Academy of Refrigeration. V.S. Martynovskiy's scientific heritage is rich and various. He has issued 9 monographies and manuals, has published more than 150 scientific articles on actual problems of refrigerating engineering, thermodynamics and heat-and-power engineering. His scientific works on development and perfection of methods of thermodynamic analysis of processes and cycles of the effectual refrigerating machines, heat pumps and thermotransformers are widely known. V.S. Martynovskiy with employees of institute has created and realized the effective refrigerating machines with new processes and circuits, for example, the air regenerative turborefrigerating machines. He creates the authoritative scientific school which continues his life-work.
