Seventy years ago P.L. Kapitsa began a series of original researches of properties of liquid helium at Institute of physical problems created by him. As result was opening and experimental acknowledgement of the phenomenon of superfluidity of liquid helium. This research has served as stimulus for development of theoretical physics, has expanded our representations about properties of matter as helium II appeared the first experimentally investigated quantum liquid. In 1978 for fundamental inventions and opening in the field of physics of low temperatures academician P.L. Kapitsa has been awarded by Nobel Prize.
