Abstract

Minimizing specific production costs is a topical problem of air separation. The costs depend upon the efficiency and reliability of air compressors used for air separation plants (ASP), as well as nitrogen and oxygen compressors. «MAN Turbo» manufactures the high performance compressors, required by ASP: multishaft gear-type compressors of RG series and isotherm centrifugal compressors of RIKT series. Electric motors or steam turbines are used as drives. Design features and advantages of compressors are considered.
