Broadening application range in cryogenic helium plants (CHP) and systems (CHS) and the necessity to provide for their competitiveness on the domestic and foreign markets require safety increase. The major ways of reaching high CHP and CHS safety level are considered. It is shown that the most effective is the increase of CHS safety at the expense of a tank charged with liquid helium as a heterogeneous reserve with a simultaneous defected equipment repair. It is mentioned that such reservation is the most effective for two-circuit cryogenic helium systems with refrigerators having excess reverse flow.
