Urea consumption worldwide is constantly increasing. The feedstock for the urea synthesis is supplied from the ammonia production. In the technologies globally applied, ammonia is supplied to the urea unit in liquid form, carbon dioxide — in gaseous. Reciprocating and centrifugal compressors are used for gaseous carbon dioxide compression. It is offered extra feed of compressed by pump liquid carbon dioxide to enable stable operation conditions for urea production process. Variants of use liquid carbon dioxide in the urea production are considered. In order to reduce capital and operation costs we developed special input unit for supply of HP liquid carbon dioxide to the urea unit. The payback period for the above development is 1 year to several months depending on the urea pricing.Downloads
