Abstract

Compressed (CNG) and liquefied (LNG) natural gas are the energy sources, oil alternative fuels. In many countries programs that promote the transfer of natural gas transportation are realized. Russia and Ukraine on the number of cars with gas cylinder equipment and the number of automobile gas-filling compressor stations are inferior to leaders of the world gas motor market. The causes of the backlog and activities that may contribute greater use of CNG are considered. There is universal LNG as a cryogenic energy carrier. There are examples of successful LNG application in automobile and railway Russian transport.
