Abstract

Nowadays the «Carbon Capture and Storage» technology is being developed, and for its realization in the large thermal power stations cryogenic air separation installations that produce oxygen should be included. In new projects the use of «Oxyfuel combustion» technology for generation of pure energy with the subsequent preparation of carbon dioxide for deposition is provided for. As a result the energy generation is bindingly accompanied by obtaining air separation products. Oxygen is used both for burning fuel and for accumulation of energy in the form of a cryogenic liquid. This enables us to solve a complex of the problems connected with ensuring the peak energy consumption in daytime with simultaneous decrease of specific power inputs for oxygen production. Cryogenic technologies are also used in the installations for efficient capture of СО2 from furnace gases. In the article the basic design and technological solutions used in the course of developing and realization of such projects are considered.
