Abstract

A great interest is shown in non-drainage fuelling of a warm fuel tank of a car that is without steam dumping in the environment. For that reason it is topical to determine the velocity of pressure change in the tank in the course of its non-drainage fuelling and steam dumping, as well as to determine the duration of the fuelling process. The process of a warm fuel tank fuelling is divided into two stages: the first is fuelling the tank with a cryogenic material, and the second is steam dumping in the technological tank. For the description of thermodynamic and thermal physic processes during tank fuelling two models were made. In the models heat exchange between the fuel tank wall, steam and the liquid is taken into account. The theoretical model which characterizes the changes of the basic indexes at the stage of steam dumping from the fuel tank has been developed. In three sets of experiments the changes of the basic indexes of the processes of fuel tank fuelling with compressed natural gas or liquid nitrogen and dump of their steams have been studied. The satisfactory coincidence of design and experimental indexes of complicated thermodynamic processes occurring in the course of fuelling and emptying the fuel tank has been established.
