The state of works in the field of hydrate technology in the world and Ukraine is analyzed. The prospects of natural gas transportation in the form of hydrates; a long-term storage of natural gas in the hydrate state; natural gas extraction from its hydrate deposits are considered. A foreign experience in adoption of hydrate technologies has been described. The calculation of operating costs when transporting natural gas in the hydrate state indicates that they are 25 % lower as compared with the delivery of the gas in a liquefied form. The experimental stand «SG-16:100» was made, and it allowed to observe under laboratory conditions the origination of methane hydrates and carbon dioxide as well as a rapid method for their production and study based on the serial hygrometer «TOROS-3- 2VIZ». The obtained equilibrium dependences «pressure-temperature» for the hydrates of natural gas and carbon dioxide indicate the thermodynamic advantage of the existence of the latter.
