The demand for electricity is uneven. In this connection the technologies are developed and used that allow to create different energy accumulation systems. The purpose of these systems is improving the distribution and consumption of electrical energy in different time periods. The basic technologies of storing energy in the form of water (PSHE), compressed air (CAES) and cryogenic liquid (CES) are considered. It has been shown that the energy storage systems in the form of liquid air LAES are widely used and have a relatively high energy conversion efficiency reaching 60... 70 %. Using CES-technology a virtual cryogenic tube for backing-up the energy and its consumption in a short period of time can be created.
