THE DEVELOPMENT OF A HIGH-SPEED AIR PISTON COMPRESSOR FOR ASU OF A NEW GENERATION

Abstract

The demand for air separation products grows. In this connection there is a need for an air piston compressor of higher capacity for use in a cryogenic air separation installation that implements the cycle of a medium pressure. The development of a new compressor 4VM10-75/71 on the well-proven compressor base 4VM10 is reported about. Some design features of the piston compressor 4VM10-75/71 of an increased capacity have been presented. The procedure of monitoring the operation of the given compressor during the tests has been described. The features of the choice of band-pass valves for the given compressor have been considered taking into account the increased shaft rotation frequency.
