Accumulation of liquid cryogenic air separation products is one of the promising areas for the harmonization of their production and decrease of electricity consumption. Air separation products are used as an intermediary energy source in cryogenic energy accumulators. The possibility of operating an air separation unit (ASU) to produce gaseous oxygen in three modes with different power consumption, which has a different value, is considered. The difference in the levels of energy consumption is connected with the accumulation or use of energy in the form of a cryogenic liquid such as liquid oxygen and bottoms liquid. It is shown that in case of a three-band tariff rate for electricity due to the accumulation of energy in the low cost period and its use in the high cost period, expenses for the ASU power consumption can be reduced by 25 %.
