The paper outlines identified peculiarities of constructing a thermodynamic model for the formalized scheme of a low-temperature unit, which relate to such elements of cryogenic plants as a throttle, a separator, a mixer, a compressor. It presents a developed thermodynamic model for the high-pressure refrigeration cycle. The paper takes account of energy flows in the form of heat and work considering the choice of input data for the calculation of the thermodynamic cycle. The number of input data is determined and their specific set for the above cycle is offered.
