An attempt to experimentally verify earlier theoretically predicted asymmetry effects in heat transfer of rectangular fins has been made. The paper describes a simple experimental setup and methods of the experiment. As a result of the analysis of the obtained measurement data, theoretical conclusions about the asymmetry of the heat exchange of fins depending on the direction of heat flow and the flow of the media washing these fins have been fully confirmed. Techniques of determining a fin thermal load used in the work can be applied in the technique of a low-temperature experiment, for example, for non-contact measurement of the heat load of heat exchangers and heat transfer costs.
