Abstract

Large-capacity air separation units (ASUs) operating on single low pressure were initially created on the basis of regenerators. To ensure their continuous operation, two apparatures corresponded each pair of interacting gas flows, such as “air-nitrogen” and “air-oxygen.” Despite the fact that currently CRYOGENMASH (Balashikha, Russia) manufactures ASUs of modern configuration, ASUs of the first generation with the low pressure of the processed air are still used at several enterprises. Forced pressure valves alternating regenerators are important elements at these ASUs. To replace them in units, CRYOGENMASH has created highly reliable butterfly valves. Application of the new valves in the piping circuit of ASU regenerators will improve their energy efficiency, significantly reduce costs, caused by the downtime of units, increase their operating capacity by several times.
