Abstract. The article analyzes the structural elements of the theoretical model of altruism formation, which was developed by the authors. It consists of three parts. In the first part the content of altruistic education is theoretically substantiated, its forms and methods are defined, as well as the preparation of teachers to altruism development in the rising generation.
The second part reflects the principles of altruistic education (humanism, democracy, national orientation, orienation on the child’s personality, focus on the development of individual qualities, creativity, tolerance, social and pedagogical correction, reliance on human potential, self-education and self-improvement, and systemic approach), which, in our opinion, are basic for raising the desired characteristics. In the course of the study, it was concluded, that a harmonious combination of the above-characterized principles will ensure the high effectiveness of altruistic education in modern school environment.
The third part examines criterion indexes of altruism development (gnosеological, subjectively-personal, process-active), which are the defining elements in the upbringing of an altruistic personality. In the process of our work we came to a conclusion, that taking into account the novelty and relevance of the study, domestic legislative and regulations systems need some innovations. The analysis of legislative acts and regulations state the lack of documents which reflect the issues of the research.
Taking into account the urgency and the global nature of the above-mentioned problem, as well as insufficient elucidation of it in legislative acts and regulations, the authors have proposed to develop the Concept of Altruistic Education in Youth in the 21st Century, which will regulate the main issues, principles and conceptual foundations of altruistic education.
On the basis of theoretical and empirical research, it is concluded, that the issue of education of an altruistic personality requires further findings and improvements in theoretical and practical aspects, in particular, conducting research, its approbation and implementation into the educational process; development of educational equipment for the preparation of teachers to altruism education; complex implementation of altruistic education principles; improvement of criterion indexes of altruism development, which will contribute to optimizing the altruism formation in youth.
