We have studied the optical excitation functions for spectral lines of Zn, Cd and Hg atoms major series, emerging from n 1S0 -levels. The Ca atom resonant line excitation functions was studied too. In the all energy dependences of measured cross sections a few features were revealed. The most of the features below the atomic ionization threshold are due to the decay of short-lived states of the negative ions. Above the corresponding atomic ionization potentionals the post-collision interaction effect of scattered and ejected electrons was found.References
