Abstract

Alpha spectrometry approach using solid state nuclear track detectors (SSNTD) of CR-39 type is considered within the energy range 4-6 MeV. Experimental data obtaining stages are described from the SSNTD exposure procedure to the follow analysis of individual tracks. The results of measurements for samples containing plutonium isotopes are presented as well as the dependence of minimal detectible activity on the exposure time and on the spike (tracer) activity for one of the nuclides.
