Heat capacity measurements for Cu6PS5I single crystals as well as for micro- and nanocrystalline powders were carried out in the temperature range 70–300 K. The influence of grain size on the phase transitions and heat capacity in Cu6PS5I micro- and nanocrystalline powders is studied. For the powdered Cu6PS5I, in addition to the anomalies in the temperature dependence of specific heat corresponding to the phase transitions in the bulk material, an anomaly at a higher temperature is observed which is related to the “surface” phase transition.
