Byron and Ukrainian literature: the problem of influence in the conceptualization by Y. Boyko-Blokhin

The article addresses views of Y. Boyko-Blokhin on reception of Lord Byron's heritage in Ukrainian literature of the XIX century and beginning of the XX century (from the perspective of approach of the expatriate researcher to comparative study of Slavic literatures). The concept of influence in interpretation of Y. Boyko-Blokhin is comprehended and correlated with opinions of modern comparativists. The article substantiates relevance of conclusions of Y. Boyko-Blokhin about the phenomenon of Ukrainian Byronism.
Great importance of the views of Y. Boyko-Blokhin, who developed traditions of national comparative studies, and, at the same time, applied the newest West European methodology, for continuous development of Ukrainian comparative literary criticism, is proved
