Aim: analysis of literary data on the use of anthracyclines in the treatment of solid tumors in children.
Methods: Review of the literature on the use of anthracyclines in the treatment of solid tumors in children. Discussion of the types of toxicity of doxorubicin and the search for ways to overcome the side effects of the drug.
Results: Most chemotherapy schemes that are used in the treatment of solid tumors in children include anthracyclines, among which the most popular is doxorubicin. Conducting chemotherapy, consisting of anthracyclines in children with various malignant tumors, can cause a number of toxic side effects, both during treatment and in long-term period.
Conclusions: The possibility of using doxorubicin limited by its toxic effects especially on the heart muscle. One of the challenges for further research is to find ways to reduce the cardiotoxicity of doxorubicin, while maintaining dose
