Рассматривается роль транспортного уравнения Больцмана (ТУБ) в модели Ландауэра-Датты-Лундстрома (ЛДЛ) переноса электронов и тепла. В качестве приложения ТУБ обсуждается решение ТУБ в приближении времени релаксации, выводится привычное для модели ЛДЛ выражение для поверхностной проводимости и рассматривается поведение тока во внешнем магнитном поле
