У статті виокремлені основні етапи становлення системи виховання дітей-сиріт та дітей, позбавлених батьківського піклування, в Україні. Проаналізовані основні законодавчі акти, рішення, що приймались та втілювались на державному рівні з метою реалізації принципів захисту прав дитини-сироти згідно з Конвенцією про права дітей
