The article is devoted to the analysis of foreign experience of social support and
rehabilitation of war victims. The forms and methods of social and rehabilitation work with
persons affected by the war inherent in foreign countries are determined. Emphasis is placed on
the system of social work with direct participants in hostilities, which is always an intense
traumatic experience that disrupts the social adaptation of such persons. A comparative analysis
of the domestic and foreign system of social rehabilitation of war victims is carried out. It has
been established that various Western countries have built their own systems of social and
rehabilitation work with persons affected by the war. However, each of them makes it possible to
effectively implement social work training programs, to provide multi-level social support to
soldiers and their families.
