Abstract

The article defines the concept of youth, examines different approaches to this term, and analyzes the age range for categorizing individuals as youth in Ukraine and other countries. It also explores the impact of the war on Ukrainian youth, focusing on key aspects of this influence and outlining the main challenges they face. It is established that the war not only poses a physical threat to life but also significantly affects the psycho-emotional state of young people, increasing levels of anxiety, stress, and uncertainty about the future. Key factors such as loss of income, deterioration of mental health, disruption of social connections, and forced displacement, which exacerbate youth vulnerability, are analyzed. The article reveals the impact of war on the social and economic prospects of youth, complicating their adaptation to new realities and their return to normal life. The main consequences for youth are identified, including the loss of opportunities for self-realization, education, and employment, as well as the negative impact on mental well-being. Despite the many difficulties, it is noted that youth show increased civic engagement, volunteer participation, and patriotic sentiments. The article also highlights trends toward greater tolerance among young people and their desire to return to Ukraine after forced displacement. Based on the research, it is concluded that youth, while being the most vulnerable group, remains an important intellectual and social resource for the further development of Ukrainian society.
