Abstract

The article examines the practical application of computer-assisted translation tools using Trados Studio for the Polish–Ukrainian translation direction. It outlines the core components of the software environment, the operational principles of translation memory and terminology databases, and provides a concise historical overview of CAT technology development. The advantages of Trados Studio in professional translation workflows are analysed, particularly in the translation of legal and notarial documents where terminological consistency is essential. The study highlights technical and procedural limitations associated with CAT integration, including initial learning complexity, hardware requirements, and file-format compatibility issues. The need to incorporate practical training in Trados Studio into academic curricula is emphasized, as proficiency in CAT tools directly affects translation quality and professional competitiveness. The article concludes that Trados Studio is an effective instrument for structuring translation processes and optimizing the translator’s work within current market demands.
