Implementation of the institute of career counselors in Ukraine

The article examines the establishment and development of the career advisor institute in Ukraine, its significance for the employment and education system, and its prospects for further development. The authors analyze the factors that necessitated the introduction of this profession. It is demonstrated that modern employment trends require employees to be flexible, adaptable, and continuously develop career competencies. At the same time, the career advisor institute serves as an essential mechanism for supporting citizens in professional self-determination, career planning, and effective employment. The key functions of a career advisor are outlined.
The study analyzes the regulatory and legal framework governing the activities of career advisors in Ukraine. It has been established that since the introduction of the career advisor institute, the employment rate in Ukraine has increased, indicating the effectiveness of this approach. The potential directions for improving career advisor training in Ukraine are identified, including the introduction of relevant educational programs in domestic universities.
Special attention is given to the prospects for expanding the role of career advisors in school education. It is determined that future career advisors in schools should possess extensive knowledge in economics, sociology, and human resource management, which goes beyond the traditional competencies of school psychologists. The article emphasizes the importance of establishing unified standards for career advisors' activities to regulate the quality of career services in both the public and corporate sectors. The necessity of developing a system for evaluating the effectiveness of career advisors' work is highlighted, including the implementation of KPIs and other monitoring tools.
The study concludes that the career advisor institute is a crucial component of the modern employment and education system. Its further development will contribute to improving citizens' professional mobility, enhancing employment efficiency, and adapting the labor market to contemporary challenges.
