OPTIMIZATION OF THE COMPRESSOR–COOLING TOWER COMPLEX USED IN THE STRUCTURE OF CRYOGENIC AIR SEPARATION PLANT

The creation of the method of technical and economic optimization of cooling systems of air piston compressors used in the structure of cryogenic air separation plants of average productivity is actual at present. With the help of the developed mathematical model is achieved the problem of minimization of the reduced costs for the creation of the cooling system with a wet-dry cooling tower where in its closed circuit and refrigerators of the compressor the intermediate heat-carrier circulates. The cooling system of the air piston compressor of such type as «4ВМ10-40/70» is analyzed and it is marked that the passport consumption of a cooling fluid is set too low (35 m3/h) concerning really required 55–60 m3/h. The recommendations how to optimize of the characteristic of the compressor-cooling tower complex are given according to the findings of numerical simulation.
