Abstract

In Northwest region of Russia the demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) constantly grows. The operation on creation different low-tonnage plants for manufacture LNG are considered and critically analyzed. As places for seating such plant are selected the gas- distribution stations of gas-main pipe-lines, and also insufficiently loaded automobile gas-filling compressor stations. For increase of efficiency and manufacture of large quantity of LNG are developed the plants on a base of expander-compressor cycles and also single-flow cascade cycles. The base problems which solution will promote to wider use of LNG as effective gas-engine fuel are stated.
